There are few closet staples I love more than a great pair of faux leather leggings. Seriously, what’s not to love? They’re as comfortable as your favorite sweats but look a million times more chic.

Since you guys loved the last pair I shared, I thought it would be fun to pull together a full guide on all the different ways you can style them.

How to Wear Faux Leather Leggings Casually

One of the best things about faux leather leggings is just how versatile they are for everyday wear. I’ve pulled together some of my go-to looks for when you want to be comfortable and cute.

Leggings with Flannel

You can style flannel shirts with leather leggings in a couple of really cool ways. The first is to layer them over a tee or a tank and just leave the flannel open like a jacket.

Or, you can tie it around your waist for a ’90s grunge kind of look. I think both options look so cool and casual.

Leather Leggings with a Denim Jacket

Here’s another super easy casual outfit. Just throw on an oversized denim jacket with your faux leather leggings.

This pairing contrasts the edgy bottoms with a rugged, laid-back jacket that I just love.

You can layer it over a graphic tee or a hoodie. Finish the whole thing off with sneakers or some cute booties.

Leather Leggings with Sneakers

For a look that’s unbelievably casual, just pair your leather leggings with some white or black sneakers.

This is seriously the perfect outfit for weekends, travel days, running errands, and any other casual day you can think of.

A t-shirt, tank, hoodie, or sweater is all you need to complete the relaxed vibe. It’s a no-brainer!

Leather Leggings with a Tunic Sweater

I am such a huge fan of this look. An oversized sweater or sweatshirt is the perfect companion to leather leggings. The whole baggy-on-top thing really balances out the fitted bottoms in a way that just works.

If you want a little extra coverage, a tunic-length sweater is a total game-changer. Just add some cute boots and you have the most comfortable weekend outfit ever.

How to Dress Up Faux Leather Leggings

While leather leggings definitely give off a relaxed vibe, they can absolutely be styled up for going out, date nights, and even more formal events.

Here’s how I make them feel a little fancier.

Leggings with a Drapey Kimono

Kimonos or duster-style coats are such a stylish way to get some coverage. I love layering them over a simple tee for a look that feels really intentional.

For a sleek, put-together outfit, you can keep everything all black. Just add some heels and a cute clutch, and you’re ready for a wedding, a dinner party, or a fun night out.

Leggings with a Cropped Sweater

For those cooler evenings, you should totally try a cropped ribbed sweater with high-waisted faux leather leggings. It’s a very chic trend that shows just a little sliver of your midriff.

To complete the outfit, I’d add some ankle booties.

Leather Leggings with Heels and Blazer

This is one of the easiest ways to make leather leggings look dressy. Just add a blazer and heels! I like to go with a satin camisole or a silky tank tucked into the leggings.

Then, layer a tailored blazer on top. Finish it all off with some strappy heels or pumps. A little elegant jewelry is the perfect way to polish off this date night look.

Leather Leggings with a Flowy Blouse

A feminine, flowy blouse creates such a beautiful contrast with edgy leather leggings. I love tucking a silky top into the leggings and adding some heeled booties or pumps.

It creates a fun dynamic between the loose blouse and the tight bottoms. Throw on some sparkly jewelry, and it’s perfect for a dressy occasion.

How to Style Faux Leather Leggings for Fall & Winter

Leather leggings really get their time to shine in the fall and winter, when you want to look stylish but also stay warm. Here are some of my favorite ways to wear them when it gets cold.

With a Faux Fur Coat

If you want some serious style points, you have to try layering a faux fur coat on top of your leather leggings.

I love contrasting the textures by wearing something like a graphic tee or a bodysuit underneath. This combo creates such a luxe, eye-catching look for winter. It’s a total showstopper.

With a Fuzzy Sweater

A chunky, fuzzy sweater brings so much warmth and softness to the edgy vibe of leather leggings. You could try a turtleneck style or a big oversized fisherman knit.

I’d wear ankle booties or sneakers on my feet to finish this cozy winter outfit.

With Over-the-Knee Boots

This pairing is a match made in fashion heaven, I swear. Over-the-knee boots and leather leggings just look so good together.

I’d pick boots that have a block or chunky heel for better comfort and stability. Just add a sweater or a jacket on top and you’re good to go.

With Combat Boots

The rugged feel of lug sole combat boots creates such a cool contrast with the sleek leggings. I’d wear this combo with a moto jacket or an oversized hoodie when I’m running errands in the fall.

How to Wear Leather Leggings to Work

I know it sounds a little wild, but you can definitely make leather leggings appropriate for work. You just have to be thoughtful about how you style them. Here are my favorite ideas.

Leggings with a Turtleneck & Loafers

A turtleneck with a blazer or a cardigan is another great option for wearing leather leggings to the office. The loafers give the whole outfit a polished, put-together feel that I love.

To keep it looking professional, I would stick to solid colors like black, gray, white, or navy on top.

Leather Leggings with a Midi Skirt

If you work in a more creative office, try pairing your faux leather leggings with an oversized sweater and a long midi skirt.

This gives you plenty of coverage while still showing off a little peek of the cool leggings underneath. I’d finish it with booties for an edgy business casual outfit.

Leggings with a Button-Down & Blazer

A crisp button-down shirt paired with a tailored blazer instantly gives leather leggings a professional feel. I always tuck the button-down into the leggings to create a really seamless line.

Adding black or nude heels finishes off this office-ready look perfectly.
