House of Style to Be Revived
Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls have been named the new hosts of House of Style, the extremely popular MTV fashion show that aired from 1989 to 2000.
The show is making a comeback for 2012, and will appear as an online series, available to watch on STYLE.MTV.COM, on October 9.
House of Style premiered back on January 1, 1989 and focused on America’s growing fascination with supermodels. The show featured fashion, lives of models, the modeling industry, and controversial topics that pertained to the fashion world, like eating disorders.
Cindy Crawford was the original host, and led the show for six-years. Other hosts for the show included Rebecca Romijn, Molly Sims, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow, and Daisy Fuentes.
While the show was extremely popular during Crawford’s run, MTV began cutting the number of episodes until the show ended up being reduced to a yearly special. It was ultimately canceled in 2000, but brought back for one episode on March 21, 2009. Bar Refaeli hosted and Chanel Iman was a correspondent.

Wow, I am so excited to check this out! I don’t think there will ever be enough fashion and style programs on television (despite this one will be online). And Joan Smalls is so stunning! Great article.
