Banana Republic Launches ‘Anna Karenina’ Line

Banana Republic is launching a line inspired by “Anna Karenina.”

The line will be coming out in conjunction with Focus Films adaptation of the classic novel, which stars Keira Knightley and Jude Law, and comes out on Nov. 9.

The pieces in the collection will all be based on the film’s 19th-century Russian costumes.

Banana Republic’s creative director and executive vice president of design Simon Kneen is excited about the collection. ¬†“We’re going to pull it together in a way that feel’s wearable,” he said.

The collection will feature fake furs, hats and coats that take their inspiration direct from the Romantic Russian Imperialism period, while the rich gray and black fabrics are influenced by Dior. The crystal jewelry and pearls that Knightley wears in the film will be replicated as well.

Prices will range from $39.50 to $325 for clothes, while jewelry and accessories will run anywhere from $29.50 to $250.

The collection will be available in the fall.
