Glamazon: Batman Fashion

Last week, I finally decided to go see ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ As a super hero fan, it’s an absolute sin I’ve waited this long to see it. Realistically, it took so long because I couldn’t decide what to eat before the movie to hold me over so I wouldn’t be starving. I refuse to pay $10 for a tub of stale popcorn.

Anyway, I finally saw the movie. It’s everything I imagined it’d be…and more. I finally saw Catwoman in the newer movies (and she was played by straight crush, Anne Hathaway) and even got the twists and turns I was hoping for. Well, now that I’ve seen the movie it’s time to do what any gay man would do after seeing a super hero movie…give advice about where you can get the clothing from the movie.

Now obviously, many of us don’t have Bruce Wayne’s budget. That doesn’t mean we still can’t dress like we do.

If you’re going to roam the streets in a mask and cape with pointy ears, you better look damn good in your street clothes. Bruce doesn’t joke around in this department and always dons a classy two-button suit. In this movie gray suits seemed to light up the screen brighter than the bat signal. If you’re going to get a suit, I recommend checking out the website, Suit Supply. You can find many reasonably priced suits on there and find one that will fit you perfectly. If it doesn’t, definitely get it tailored. A baggy suit would make you like a joker.

Bruce likes to rock square faced watches as well. A pretty bold and non-traditional approach to the watch. I would recommend checking out some of Fossil’s selection of watches. Something with a black band and black face would look great. Make sure the numbers aren’t too crazy on the watch either. It could go from classy to trashy in seconds.

In the beginning of the film, Bruce can be seen wearing a robe around his house. As much fun as it is to walk around naked, if you’re a superhero somebody will be on to you. You have to be clothed at all times so no pesky reporters are trying to getting dick pics for the tabloids. Check out Target’s selection of Merona robes. I recommend something dark gray.

Maybe you’re not a hero. Maybe you’re a villain. If you’re looking to be a total bad ass like Bane check out some of Stacy Adams faux jackets. There’s a few on her website that resemble the jacket Bane wears in the movie.

Follow these tips, boys, and you’ll be a hero or a villain in no time. Don’t forget to snag a knock off pearl necklace from Forever 21 for your lady friend to wear to complete her Selena Kyle look as well.

Now, go shop. Go be fashionable. Rise.
