Eco-Spotlight: ALEX and ANI

This week I’m shining the eco-spotlight on an amazing jewelry company that I just discovered, Alex and Ani.  The mission of their brand, from alexandani.com, is to “offer eco-friendly, positive energy products that adorn the body, enlighten the mind, and empower the spirit… every individual has a positive message to share with the world and by incorporating powerful symbolism and infusing (+) energy into each piece, Alex and Ani provides a vehicle for the wearer to express their individuality in an organic, spiritual way.”  What an amazing and inspirational way to look at the way you wear jewelry!  Accessorizing is something that many people look at as a statement of fashion- but why not take that a step further and wear jewelry that is both cute and also has its own spiritual and powerful energy.

I was introduced to this brand by my best friend Fiona who sent me one of Alex and Ani’s signature gold bangle bracelets (thanks again Fi!)  It was the “Path of Life” bracelet, which is a symbol of life’s endless possibilities and expressions of love.  The Alex and Ani brand proudly encourage customers to wear this bracelet to celebrate their willingness to travel towards “life’s fruitful moments”, which I know I will certainly do!  Their bracelets also come in a great an innovative style as an expandable wire bangle, making each piece easily adjustable to any wrist size (genius).  They look super cute layered together and worn in sets, so don’t only settle for one!  All of Alex and Ani bangles come with an array of different jewels, colors, patterns, symbols, and more.

This brand thrives on the idea that what is pure and natural is most beautiful.  That is why designer Carolyn Rafaelian uses recycled materials to create each piece.  She believes in supporting the environment to protect the planet and its future.  Therefore, all jewelry is made from recycled metals from local mills in the United States.  Each bangle even includes three small eco-conscious charms- one with the triangular recycle symbol, one with an American flag that says made with love, and one that says infused with (+) energy technology.  The main and overall goal: to encourage social consciousness.

To top it off, these pieces are worn by so many celebrities- and they’re very affordable!  Here’s a cute picture of Ashley Tisdale rocking a wrist full of Alex and Ani bangles, which might I add totally pulls her look together.  This line of jewelry is extremely fashion forward- both in its style and in its mentality.  Who wouldn’t want to wear accessories that are infused with positive energy??  Seriously though… This life of jewelry is a must have!  Check out their large selection of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and hair accessories.  Support this environmentally-friendly brand and go green in a positive and fashionable way!
