Inspired By… Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is probably best known now for overcoming her eating disorder, hardcore partying ways, and cutting.  But, she once was part of Disney’s Holy Trinity and had her own show on the network called Sonny with a Chance.

Now Demi’s left Disney and is a judge on the upcoming second season of Fox’s The X-Factor.  She’s also been talking to various magazines and news outlet about her struggles.

While many admire Demi for overcoming her struggles (and she certainly deserves this admiration), her style should be applauded too!  Her fashion evolution has been quite interesting.  She’s gone from rock-inspired to a classy, but edgy look.  So, when trying to dress like Demi, go for classic dresses with edgy accessories.

In this first look, Demi was at an X-Factor event.  While her dress is a bit too long, it’s a perfect inspiration for a dinner outfit.  Select a bright yellow dress, a pair of spiky heels, and a leather (or faux-leather) jacket.

This second look is a great one for a night out!  I love the dress Demi is wearing, so to draw inspiration, choose a color-block body con dress, a pair of strappy silver shoes, and a silver bangle.

This final look draws inspiration from Demi’s more rock-inspired stage.  A slouchy black shirt and some shorts is perfect for a casual day out.  To capture that rock look, wear a pair of military boots and a spiky bracelet.

Demi’s style is a lot of fun.  I love her smooth transition from the rock-inspired look to a classier, but still edgy look.  And it’s an easy one to transition into your wardrobe!
