DIY Jewelry Display

Jewelry is one of the hardest accessories to store or display. Necklaces tangle, earrings get mismatched and lost, and metal rings get scratched. It’s important to display jewelry in a neat and orderly manner, and I have just the perfect do-it-yourself project to handle the job.

All you need are a few simple supplies:

  • An old picture frame (the size depends on your personal preference)
  • Paint in your color of choice
  • Three skinny rods (I’m going to use metal, but the picture depicts more of twig like pieces)
  • Super glue.

First, paint the exterior of your picture frame. I’m going to choose black for my display in order to create a contrast with my bedroom wall. Let the paint dry, and then it’s time to secure the rods to back of the frame.

For mine, I’m going to super glue the metal rods to the back, then let them dry. Make sure they are evenly spaced. I’m going to use three bars, but if you choose a smaller frame, you might only need one or two.

Now, put a nail in the wall and hang it up. String your necklaces around these rods and wa-la! You now have a new way to display all of your necklaces and bracelets.

Earrings won’t necessarily fit correctly on this holder, but an easy way to display these accessories is to use a small picture frame. A 4 x 6 frame would be a great size. Cut a piece of wire mesh to fit the frame and place it in there, and you’re done! You can make this a standing frame or hang it on your wall. Just stick the earring backs through the mesh and secure them.
