Sizzlin’ Summer Essentials

It seems like everyday of this summer has been in a heat wave.  I don’t think it’s very attractive to be hot and sweating every time that I leave my house.  I have a few beauty, fashion, and other tips to help beat the heat during this very hot summer.

Fashion:On very hot days I try to always wear a shorter breezy dress.  I try to not wear heavy materials or a lot of fabric so that I can stay as cool as possible.  I always opt for sandals (Unisa Lajila Sandals, DSW, $44.95) as well to keep my feet open and airy.  Sunglasses (DKNY, Amazon, $89) and hats are also a great accessory for super hot summer days to shade your face from the bright sun.

Beauty:  I have several beauty essentials for hot days as well that really help.  Dry shampoo (Batiste, Ulta, $7.99) is a great product for hot days even if you have clean hair.  Spraying this in your hair throughout the day will help to absorb any extra oil or sweat that will accumulate because of the heat.  I also try to skip foundation if possible.  When it is really hot out foundation has a tendency to look as if it’s melting off your face.  It also doesn’t feel very nice.  Cream blushes are also a great option in the heat because they will stay on your face much longer than a powder blush.

Always carrying water with you on hot summer days is also a great idea and a definite summer essential.  We all know the benefits of water and staying hydrated but drinking water throughout the day can also help to keep you cooler.  I use these tips nearly daily to help beat the summer heat and not look like I just went for a run every time I step outside.
