Gladiator Sandals: A Summer Staple
Gladiator sandals are a trend that has been around for years and it’s easy to see why. Whether you’re pairing them with jeans and a t-shirt or with a designer dress, gladiator sandals always brings an outfit together. The one thing that has probably kept these shoes so popular is their wide range of style. You can wear them as heels, wedges, or flats, knee-length, ankle-length, or slip-ons, in various colors and designs. Gladiator sandals might sound like something you should wear as part of a costume, it’s easy to wear this trend in daily life.
While gladiator sandals are inspired by the fashion of ancient Greece and Rome, you should avoid dressing exactly like people from that time period. This isn’t Sparta, after all. One shoulder tops and dresses are probably your worst enemy while wearing gladiator sandals. No offense to that trend, but they look a bit too much like a toga when paired with this footwear. Unless you’re going to a costume party, you better leave the Greek Goddess look at home.
You should also avoid anything with a hem below the knee if you plan on wearing sandals that go up to your ankle or higher. This combination will show only your calves or less and can make you appear shorter than you really are. With great sandals on your feet you want people to see how gorgeous they look, not how they never realized you were so short.
Gladiator sandals are a great way to complete any outfit. They add a little bit of edge and class to any ensemble. Feel like looking laid back and relaxed? Gladiator sandals can help you pull it off. Feel like looking glamorous and edgy? Gladiator sandals can help you pull that off too. With so many different styles in this one trend, there’s no way you won’t be able to find the right gladiator sandal for you.
